Suki

Suki

Suki at around 4 Months

Suki is my German Shepherd Dog and I take her hiking every week.

This can definitely limit where I can go as dogs either must be leashed or are simply not allowed in many of the nearby canyons. However, we both love to get out and hiking is something we can do together.

Suki gets to go to the dog park (off-leash area) pretty much every day. But she’s kind of a funny dog. There aren’t many dogs she will play with. She can be kind of timid but then actually plays kind of aggressively. (She’s vocal, etc.)

As with some German Shepherd Dogs, she can be intense. If she sees a cat, rabbit, deer, or anything else that will run away she goes crazy to run after it.

She is definitely spoiled. Working from home, there’s very little time that she’s left on her own. She gets at least an hour walk each day and it’s almost always off-leash. (That’s in addition to time at the dog park and time hiking.)

For the most part, she’s a beautiful dog who is very focused and loyal to her owner. Being as insecure as she is, I always encourage her to do things and interact with other people and dogs.
