Took the snowshoes again up Mill Creek Canyon. I could’ve easily got by with MICROspikes, even when we got to where there was a bit of fresh powder on the ground as the trail was pretty much packed.

This time of year, the Terraces picnic area is gated so we parked and begin the hike on the main canyon road. (You can park and begin the hike a little higher up during the Summer.)

It’s been a rough week for me and I really didn’t feel that great physically. I’ve been under a lot of stress and haven’t been sleeping enough. So we didn’t go all that far. We only traveled about two and one quarter miles (one way), which took about an hour and a half. But there was a bit of a slope on the trails we climbed around 1,700 feet in that distance.

There wasn’t a large amount of snow but there was a bit of fresh powder on the ground and trees. There were clouds but the air seemed clear (even in the valley). And we even got a few moments of Sun.

In the end, I’m glad I got out. In fact, with some of the stuff that’s been going on, it almost surprises me that I get out every single week. For a variety of reasons, it’s a priority.
